Nowadays the English language is very important everywhere, because it has become one of the languages most spoken around the world. So it's important to talk and understand it correctly. I have to confess that I'm not good in languages, but I make an effort. Mainly in the school we practiced very much. Basically in the school we concentrate in grammar and specific vocabulary and also we practice a bit the listening and writings. In my house also I practise. I listen to songs in English and sometimes I translate the lyrics to understand what they say. Also I watch many movies in English. Some I look with Spanish subtitles. And this is my main experience of learning English language.

WRITINGS COMPETÈNCIES BÀSIQUES
Hi Peter / Susan
My name is Xènia. I'm 15 years old. I like riding a horse and in general I really like animals. Also I like dancing and canoeing. And finally I like walking in the mountains. I don't like ski, painting or shopping. My school is Escola Casa Nostra. It is in Porqueres, near Banyoles, Catalonia. My favorite subject is History. The teachers are very nice and in my school there are many activities for all of us.
Last year, my friend Sam went to Africa. He went with her family by a plane. He made good weather, sun, some clouds, but very hot. He visited many places such as villages or deserts. He loved seeing the animals, but did not like to see some children unable to eat.
CURS 12-13
Hi auntie,

I hope you're well. I'm writing to tell you about my new friend. He's name is Bob. He's 16 years old and he's from Australia. Is strong but not very high. Has blue eyes and blonde straight hair. He likes animals and doesn't like skiing. Her hobby is riding a horse. Is very friendly and cheerful.
Last weekend I had a canoe competition. I woke up at six, I went to the club and we left at six and a half to Balaguer with all my colleagues. When we arrived, we remove the canoe and began the competitions. I was in second position. We ate sausage sandwiches and we returned to Banyoles. We arrived at five o'clock. I went to my house and I got to sleep. I was very tired, but it was fun.

MY TRIP TO ITALY 2016
Hi, my name is Xènia and in this text I going to talk about my travel to Italy with my school class. First I'm going to talk about Sirmione, then Verona, after that Venècia, also Florence, Lucca and Pisa and finally my conclusion about the trip.
We met at school at 5:15 and we took the bus towards to Barcelona airport. At 8: 55, with the company Easyjet, we set out the flight with destination to the airport of Milan/ Malpensa. We arrived roughly at 10:35 and we get into a bus that brought us to the fantastic Lago di Garda in Sirmione. Then we went to lunch at a restaurant next to the lake. We ate pizza and for my taste was very good, but too large. When we finished we went to visit the city. Then we went to Verona with a bus, we leave the luggage at the hostel and we walked around the city. I loved! The narrow streets, all stone, many shots, historical monuments... Finally we went to have dinner and rest.
During the second day we boarded a train direction to Venècia. We spend all day there. We visited ponte di Rialto, the famous square named "Plaza di San Marco", the basilica of San Marco and a tour of the studio of glass called Murano glass. After that we had free time for stroll and lunch. We go back to the station with "vaporetto", a public boat like a bus. We returned to catch train until Verona. There, we finished to meet the city, we went to dinner at the restaurant of the day before and went to sleep.
On the third day, we got up early, we did baggage and we had breakfast. Then we took a train for about one hour in the direction of Florence. We leave the luggage at the hotel and we went to lunch. We spend the whole afternoon to visit the city and we had free time to go shopping for gifts, food ice cream or crepes, take pictures... Later we went to dinner and to rest.
On the last day, we did baggage and we took a bus direction to Lucca. But before we went to the lookout of the Piazza Miquel Angelo for say goodbye to Florence. The views of the big city were very beautiful! When we arrived, we visited Lucca, a completely walled city. After that we went to Pisa. We had lunch and then we visited the cathedral, the baptistery and, of course, we go up the leaning tower. We had free time for a long time. During this time we were taking many photos. Finally we went to the airport of Pisa named Galileo Galilei with a bus. We had diner there. Theoretically the flight was at 22:25 but was a delay and we stay two hours at the airport. When we arrived at the airport of Barcelona we took a bus and we went to Banyoles.
In conclusion, in this trip I learned many interesting things, I have spoken different languages, I have met many people, I have more joined with my friends from class, I have sung, I have danced, I have shouted, I have fallen, I have laughed, I have cried, and I have basically been completely happy during these five days. I'm sure that this trip to Italy it'll be in our heads and never will be forgotten. I thank everyone who made this possible.

WRITING A BOLG: HORSE CLUB
Week 1: Monday 16th August
I've just joined the Horse Associations, a group of people who believe in creating a beautiful space in the middle of grey concrete cities for horses. I volunteer at an a horse association one afternoon a week. If only I'd heard about this earlier! The people there are really friendly and the horse club is a great place for chilling out after a busy day at school.
I spent the first afternoon cleaning the horses and their cadres, which was good fun because i love horses, but now I am very tired!
Week 2: Monday 23th August
I worked with a group of about the same age I this afternoon. We started making a closed for a horses. The experience was very nice, because I know a lot of people and we work together. Later we put food for all the horses.
Week 3: Monday 30th August
This afternoon we riding a horse together. We went to a route, because the horses did exercise. Was amazing!
A FORMAL EMAIL
In response to an article I came across in Wednesday's edition of your newspaper. I was disappointed to read comments stating that travelling by a train is a thing of the past. I think that nowadays many people use it, so that, saying that it is a thing of the past is not true. I would like to point out the benefits and the reason it's still used.
Firstly it, is normal to believe that the trains are no longer used, because it was one of the first public transport and existing for a long time, but this does not mean that it is no longer used. Now, there are not the same trains as before.
Next it, is a public transport with many advantages. It's cheaper, faster, bigger and whith easyier access. There are many people who use it. Whether for travelling arround or to go to work every day
Finally, I am due to set off on a trip to Spain on a train and check everything I said.
Kind regards,
Xènia Tubert
WRITING AN INFORMAL EMAIL
Hi Sara,
How are you?
What have you been doing since I saw you last? You won't believe it, but I've been getting involved in the daycare children.
I went to the daycare Children of Casa Nostra School to volunteer to help, such as monitors. Every day we did games for children, gymkhanas, excursions or painted the face... When I was asked if I wanted to do it, at first I thought no, but I liked it because the children like goo and you have so much fun with them. Basically you return to your infancy. And though it may seem you do not learn, but you can learn a lot from children.
Has that ever happened to you? I mean, have you had an opinion about something but then got involved in it and change your mind? It's never happened to me before! I feel much more outgoing and confident now.
Bye,
Xènia

Wednesday 11th November
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to complain about your new film, which I purchased online last weekend as a birthday present for my younger cousin.
As advertisements for the film have been broadcast between programmes for children, I thought that the product would appeal them. The advertisements also made the film look educational and fun, which is why I decided to buy it. However, my uncles and I think the film is actually extremely violent, It is not educational and the content is totally inappropriate for children under 16. When I watched the film with my cousin, she was absolutely terrified and it ruined her birthday evening.
Furthermore, we were shocked to see that the film promotes bad behaviour. Too many of the characters behave in a completely unacceptable way, which your company should not encourage.
Until now, I had always been really impressed with your company and associated your products with quality entertainment. It is very sad that you are promoting such material. Under the circumstances, I would be grateful if you could give me a full refund. Please find the receipt attached.
I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
Yours faithfully,
Xènia Tubert
